Globally there is a high demand for luxury designer items, but said items are often too expensive for most people. Whilst those with a closet full of designer items are faced with a diminishing value of their items as they fall out of trend. This combined with the current era where sharing has become more and prevalent, and the growing sense of responsibility to combat climate change, incentivised Dream Closet to enter the fashion market and provide a solution to this. Dream Closet has created a platform that allows lenders to offer their designer items for rent to a network of renters in Canada. Attire available to rent include wedding, black tie event, parties and special occasions, vacations, baby showers, and more. The organisation sought $75,000 in funding, and commissioned PBS to develop a business plan in aid of this.
